2022 Kauai Wall Calendars by Marionette Taboniar

Paint Our Garden on Sunday, April 17, 2011

National Tropical Botanical Garden is a not-for-profit, non-governmental institution with nearly 2,000 acres of gardens and preserves in Hawai‘i and Florida. Its mission is to enrich life through discovery, scientific research, conservation, and education by perpetuating the survival of plants, ecosystems, and cultural knowledge of tropical regions. NTBG is supported primarily through donations and grants.

The Women Artists of Kaua‘i promotes the works of female artists on the island while raising funds for local charities on Kaua‘i. All works are original, consisting of paintings, prints, photography, drawings, sculptures, mixed-media, metal, glass, fabric and textile art, or digital art.

Silk Painting Class

I recently taught a few silk painting classes and was really impressed with what my students painted. The above photos are all paintings by my students and many of them have never painted on silk before. Silk painting is so much fun, and I really enjoy teaching it. Mahalo to my students for such lovely work!!!!!!

More Scratchboard Art

I just finished these three scratchboard works of art for a local Kauai gallery. The top one, Kalalau, is my favorite, and I chose to leave it black and white. For the bottom two, I added a little color using dry watercolor paint.

Scratchboard is fun, easy, and anybody can do it!
