Artist's Reception for the Preview Exhibit for the 2014 Open Studio Tour on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the YWCA Women's Center in Lihue

Please join us for a "Meet the Artists" reception with pupus and beverages on the evening of October 30, 2014.  The Women Artists of Kauai Preview Exhibit will be available for viewing at the YWCA Women's Center from October 10 through November 12, 2014.  There will be one piece of art for sale from each of the artists participating in our 3rd Annual 2014 Open Studio Tour and 20% of the proceeds from any sales at the YWCA will be donated to the YWCA's wonderful programs for women and families.  There will be information about the Studio Tour available at the YWCA.

Kauai Art Events

ReSource for Christian Spirituality and Women Artists of Kauai present a Fine Art Festival on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church located at 4364 Hardy Street, Lihue, Kauai (next to the library).

This is a great opportunity to meet and talk story with these professional artists of Kauai.  Original art and prints will be for sale with a percentage of the proceeds to benefit scholarships for ReSource offerings for the coming year:  workshops, retreats, Sacred Day Walk, and spiritual direction.

There will also be a bake sale and music!

2014 Open Studio Tour

The Women Artists of Kauai will be having their 2014 3rd Annual Open Studio Tour on the weekend of November 8 and 9, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  This is a free, self driving tour.  Visit each artist's studio at your own pace and talk story with them and/or their guest artist about their artistic process.  Many of the artists will also be demonstrating in their studio.  This event is a fundraiser for the Zonta Club of Hanalei, and we will be donating 20% of our sales to their scholarship fund.


Here is a sneak peek of some of the artists we have lined up for November:

WEST SIDE

Marionette Taboniar and Anna Skaradzinska will be showing at Marionette's studio, Painting Paradise, in Waimea Town at 9814 Kaumualii Hwy.  Follow the main highway west into Waimea.  The studio is located on the ocean side of the highway between Halepule and Moana Roads.  Call (808) 631-9173 for directions.

Anna Skaradzinska:  Her art is a series of mirrored images reflecting her soul's journey through life.  She works with acrylic paint, using wood, plexiglass, and palm fronds as her canvas. www.annaskaradzinska.com

Marionette Taboniar:  Marionette is a full time art instructor and teaches watercolors, silk painting, acrylics, encaustics and more at her studio, Painting Paradise.  She is known for her paintings of tropical flowers, plantation cottages, Kauai landscapes, hula dancers, roosters, and turtles.  www.kauai-artist.net



Patrice Pendarvis will be showing at Patrice Pendarvis Studio located at 5120 Kua Road in  Lawai Valley.  At the traffic light at Koloa Road and Kua Road, go towards the mountains a little over one mile.  It is the last house on the right.  Go into the property, turn immediately left at 5120A, drive on grass, park at sign.  Walk up cement drive to studio entrance on left. Patrice Pendarvis: Through visual messages, ultimately from nature, Patrice embraces and captures the essence of her subject, the Hawaiian islands, her home for over 40 years through her primary medium, watercolors.  Patrice is also known for her multi media collage technique using watercolors with rice paper. http://www.patricependarvis.com/   http://patrice.fineartstudioonline.com/

EAST SIDE

Debbie Barklow and Caylin Spear will be showing at Debbie's Gallery of Inspiring Images in Lihue.  It is located off Kuhio Highway between Hilo Hattie's and Walmart.  Turn mauka (towards the mountain) on Ehiku Street and go one and a half blocks down to the only building on the left side of the street. Caylin Spear:   Nature is a constant inspiration for Caylin Spear in her mixed media, oil, and watercolor paintings.  Surfing and being in the ocean has given her a physical freedom and joy that she shares with others through her artwork.  www.caylinspear.com (808) 639-7324.


Suzy Staulz will be showing at her studio located in Wailua at 188 Lilia Place.  It is located 2.2 miles up Kuamoo from the main highway at Coco Palms.  Turn left at Lilia Place.  Call (808) 651-4563 for directions.

Leslie Hagen and Helen Turner will be showing at Leslie's studio (just a short drive up the road from Suzy's) at 6581 Kuamoo Road.  It is about 4 miles up from Coco Palms on the left.  Look for the black mailbox with white flowers.  Call (808) 822-1558 for directions.

Leslie Hagen: Leslie is known for her ceramic sculptures, wall masks, and functional ceramics.  Her style is whimsical, goofy, humorous, thought provoking, with occasional political satire and sometimes just plain bizarre.  https://www.etsy.com/shop/uturn

Keani Andrade will be showing at her studio in Anahola at 3882 Aopoonui Place. From the main highway, turn makai (towards the ocean) on Kukuihale Road. Drive past Kanuikapono Learning Center.  Turn right on Laula and then take next left an at Holoikalapa Street, and  left again on Aopoonui Place.  Please note: This is a new subdivision, and the street named Aopoonui Place may not be labelled on an internet map yet. NORTH SHORE


Ibbie White Alshamma and Donia Lilly will be showing at Ibbie's studio in Kilauea at 4620 Kapuna Road. From the main highway, turn mauka(towards the mountain) on Kapuna Road. It is near mile marker 19.  Go 0.3 miles to 4620.  Park and walk in gravel driveway through the copper gate.  Call (808) 828-0354 for directions.

Dawn Lundquist will be showing at Lundquist Studios in Princeville at 5359 Honoiki Road. Our Next Art Festival at the Gardens will be on Sunday, June 15, 2014 (Father's Day).
National Tropical Botanical Garden and Women Artists of Kauai present a Fine Art Festival on Sunday, February 16, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Southshore Visitor center. 

Original art, prints, and gifts will be for sale with a portion of the proceeds supporting NTBG. These fine artists will be featured: Donia Lilly, Anna Skaradzinska, Suzy Staulz, Jennifer Rutt, Marionette Taboniar, Lannie Boesiger, Caylin Spear, Helen Turner, Patrice Pendarvis, and Keani Andrade.  There will also be live music and food available for purchase at this free, family event.

5th Annual Winter Fine Art Festival




Women Artists of Kaua'i 5th Annual Winter Fine Art Festival

on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p. m.

at NTBG's Southshore Visitor Center (across from Spouting Horn)
Great holiday fun, food, live music, and shopping at the 5th Annual Winter  Fine Art Festival featuring original paintings, photography, pottery, sculpture, mixed media and more! A portion of the proceeds will be donated directly to the Gardens.

Enjoy the soothing guitar music of Dr. Matthew Miller and the delicious sushi rolls of Yanagi Sushi while taking in the beautiful collection of artworks for sale by these participating artists: Donia Lilly, Anna Skaradzinska, Marionette Taboniar, Caylin Spear, Patrice Pendarvis, Jennifer Rutt,  Lannie Boesiger, Keani Andrade, and Kathleen Bryan.

Art Studio Tour - October 12 and 13, 2013

2013 Women Artists of Kauai Open Studio Tour and Exhibit at the Kauai Museum 

During the first weekend of the Open Studio Tour, Marionette will have her studio open to the public on October 12 and 13 from 11am to 5pm and she will have as her guest artist, Anna Skaradzinska, who is famous for painting faces on palm fronds.  Please stop in for some fun pupus and to talk story with the artists.  We will be demonstrating our techniques too!!

5th Annual Summer Fine Art Festival

5th Annual Summer Fine Art Festival 
on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 
at the Southshore Visitors Center
Come relax in a beautiful, tropical garden and treat yourself to a fun art festival where you can meet and talk story with some of Kauai's most prolific women artists.   Patrice Pendarvis, Donia Lilly, Helen Turner, Anna Skaradzinska, Rhonda Forsberg, Leslie Hagen, Keani Andrade, Lannie Boesiger  and Marionette Taboniar will be discussing their creative process and some may even demonstrate.   Plus, gallery quality art will be for sale in a variety of styles and mediums with a portion of the proceeds supporting NTBG.

In the morning, Dr. Matthew Miller will soothe us with his relaxing guitar music from 10 a.m. to noon, and then Kauai's own "Slack Key Lady", Cindy Combs, will be performing a special concert for us from noon to 1pm.  Paradise Grinds will also be on site with their delicious plate lunches, snacks, refreshments, and shave ice.

Holiday Fine Art Festival - November 24, 2012

Women Artists of Kaua'i Holiday Fine Art Festival and Fundraiser 
Saturday, November 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hanapepe United Church of Christ

Great holiday fun, food, live music, and shopping at the 4th Annual Holiday Fine Art Festival featuring original paintings, photography, pottery, sculpture, mixed media and more!  A portion of the proceeds will go directly to HUCC's Free Community Lunch program offered every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 pm.

Participating artists include Patrice Pendarvis, Anna Skaradzinska, Dawn Lundquist, Helen Turner, Marionette Taboniar, Leslie Hagen, Caylin Spear, Donia Lilly, Debbie Barklow, and Rhonda Forsberg.

Live soothing guitar music will be provided by Dr. Matthew Miller.   Plus, The HUCC "Lanai Cafe" will be serving sandwiches, soups, salads, baked goods, and beverages. 

Admission to this fun, family event is free. The festival will be located at the Hanapepe United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall which is right next to the Hanapepe library.

Silen Art Auction and Art Exhibit Fundraiser

Silent Art Auction and Art Exhibit to Benefit Nana's House and Hale Ho'omalu
The Women Artists of Kaua'i will be having a special Silent Art Auction and Art Exhibit at the Kukui Grove art exhibition space on the weekend of September 14 through 16, 2012. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for Nana's House and Hale Ho'omalu (Child and Family Service)  which are both family support centers providing a food pantry, clothing closet, parenting classes, counseling, head start and healthy start programs, legal services and much, much more...and all for free to the community.
The opening reception and art auction will begin at 5 p.m. On Friday, September 14, and the winners of the art auction will be announced promptly at 8 p.m. One hundred percent of the art auction proceeds will be going directly to Nana's House and Hale Ho'omalu.
The art exhibit will continue through Sunday and twenty percent of the proceeds from all art sales will go to the charity. Hours for the art exhibit will be Friday, September 14 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, September 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, September 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A big mahalo goes out to Kauai Society of Artists for use of their space, Kukui Grove, and the women artists who so graciously donated their art and time for this fundraiser.  For more information please visit www.womenartistsofkauai.org or call Marionette at 808-631-9173.

Come join 11 artists at 7 locations from Princeville to Waimea town for the Women Artists of Kauai 1st Annual Artists' Studio Tour! Admission for this event is free and 20% of all sales will be donated to the Zonta Club of Hanalei's Scholarship fund. The self-driving tour is on Saturday Feb 25th and Sunday Feb 26th - times vary according to individual studios.  The group would like to thank our generous sponsors for making this event possible: the Midweek, the Zonta Club of Hanalei, Savage Pearls, and Na Pali Properties. Women Artists of Kaua'i Fine Art Festival & Fundraiser


Women Artists of Kaua'i Fine Art Festival & Fundraiser, Saturday, September 25, 2010, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Church of the Pacific, Princeville

Meet and talk story with the ladies of Women Artists of Kauai at this fun, free, family event. Fine art, prints, gifts, one-of-a-kinds, sculpture, oil paintings, acrylics, photography, mixed media, watercolors and more will be featured as well as painting demonstrations by the artists. All will be for a good cause as a portion of the proceeds will go directly to the church's Outreach Program which includes support of a food pantry and community garden.

Participating artists include: Anna Skaradzinska, Marlene Czajkowski, Lilian de Mello, Helen Turner, Marionette Taboniar, Dava Shepherd, Leslie Tribolet, Susi Strom, Dawn Lundquist and Leslie Hagen.

The festival will be located at the Church of the Pacific in Princeville which is directly across the main highway from Princeville Ranch Stables.

Holiday Fine Art Festival and Fundraiser

Women Artists of Kauai Holiday Fine Art Festival and Fundraiser, Saturday, November 28, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hanapepe United Church of Christ

Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with a Fine Art Festival and Fundraiser for Nana's House featuring the Women Artists of Kauai. Highlights of the festival include live Hawaiian style music by Kenny Kealoulu Keliihoomalu, painting demonstrations, one-of-a-kind pieces of art, reproductions, gift items, and ornaments. We will also have Face Painting by Aunty Steph! A portion of the proceeds will go directly to Nana's House which is a family support center provided by Child and Family Service, serving West Kauai.

Participating artists include Robin McCoy, Rocky Riedel, Aweepano Vivian Satow, Dava Shepherd, Anna Skaradzinska, Helen Turner, Jana Viles, Schar Freeman, and Marionette. Gallery quality work will be available for sale in a variety of styles and mediums including paintings, photography, jewelry, glass, clay, mixed media and more.

Admission to this fun, family event is free. The festival will be located at the Hanapepe United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall which is right next to the Hanapepe library and across the main highway from the Hanapepe fire station.
