Alcohol Inks on Yupo Paper
I have been having lots of fun playing with this newly discovered medium, alcohol inks on Yupo paper which is made from polypropylene and has a nice, slick surface (non absorbent) to work on. The alcohol inks are dyes immersed in alcohol and can be dripped, scraped with a card, and led around the paper with household items like cotton swabs and markers. I don't even use a brush with this technique. But, the best method is loading up an old tooth brush with a little alcohol and raking your finger across it to create little droplets that create exciting effects on the paper!! Hope you will enjoy these new pieces of art :-)
My next Alcohol Inks on Yupo paper class is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 11am to 1pm at my art studio, Painting Paradise, located in Waimea, Kauai. (Or we can always do a private lesson.) For directions http://www.kauaiartclasses.blogspot.com/p/map-directions.html .
